Meet Professor Harbour, a seasoned nursing professional and educator with over two decades of clinical nursing experience in critical care and various leadership roles. Her journey, spanning multiple states across North America and now internationally, has culminated in a commitment to impacting and improving healthcare delivery through education.
Academically, Professor Harbour has earned both a Master of Science in Nursing and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She has also achieved the prestigious designation of a PhD, reflecting her ongoing dedication to education and professional growth with ongoing research to lead to better outcomes for all graduate nurses.
For a decade, Professor Harbour served as an assistant professor, imparting knowledge to Associate, Bachelor, and Master-level nursing students, as well as teaching Dietetics courses. Her teaching philosophy, borne out of a passion for educating student nurses, champions a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical insight, providing students with a comprehensive perspective of the nursing field, including the intersection with the field of Dietetics.
In her home state of Missouri, Professor Harbour has actively contributed to her local nursing community. She has served on the Missouri League of Nursing Scholarship committee and acted as a liaison to the DNV Healthcare Advisory Board in the past. Additionally, she serves as a federal clinical surveyor for hospitals, working under the Health and Human Services to ensure they met the stringent standards required for Medicare accreditation.
